Most people rely on loud, sudden alarms that trigger an adrenaline spike before consciousness fully arrives. You wake up disoriented, groggy, and irritable—and that stressed feeling often lingers for hours. It's an unpleasant way to start every single day.
This bedside light gradually brightens over your chosen timeframe, signaling your body to wake before the alarm sounds. By the time any noise plays, you're already conscious and calm. It's how sunrise actually works—and it replaces the jolt with gentle, natural wakefulness.
Light increases slowly over your chosen time window, letting your body naturally transition from sleep to wakefulness.
By the time sound plays, you're already partially awake—eliminating that disorienting jolt most people dread.
Minimalist tripod stand takes minimal space and looks intentional, not clinical.

The sunrise feature is the most natural and stress-free way to wake up. The setup is so easy. It syncs with your phone via Bluetooth for perfect time set. The alarms are pre-set and there is a whole range of mood lighting. The sunrise feature is the most natural and stress-free way to wake up and I highly recommend adding this product to your wake-up routine.
You can adjust the brightness of the display, the wake up light, the volume, and choose the alarm tone from several options. It's perfect for people who cannot stand blaring usual alarm tones. I wake up smiling!
If you are a simple person pleased with the little things in life, you'll be happy with this. There are two alarms and you can set different sounds and the light (adjusted to your setting of brightness) to go off with the alarm. This was my biggest need as I hate waking up to an annoying alarm in the darkness.
I've had this clock for about 6 weeks and I'm very satisfied with the product. It has many buttons and functions. Besides using it as a sunrise alarm, I can use it as a very dim or very bright light depending on my needs, as well as a reading light while in bed and a radio in the morning. There's a warm light mode that flickers like a candle and I find it relaxing when winding down. There are many other light modes, both static and dynamic, which I use according to my mood, time of day, and needs. I can turn off the red time display, because I don't like lights from electronics on my field of vision while sleeping. I bought the wood version, which gives it a somewhat quirky vintage feel that contrasts with the more modern and white round all-lit face. On top of great quality, it has a lot of functions and options at a very low price compared to similar products from other brands. The only thing I would improve is the sound quality and adding AM radio, but that's not enough to knock down any stars.
Much easier to wake up to than the alarm on your phone or any other normal alarm clock. Worth the money. I really like the ability to set two separate alarm times that can be applied to weekdays, weekends, or the whole week. After about a year of having it, I've noticed that it runs fast, but this is not a big deal. Definitely better than being slow.
This is one of the most valuable purchases I have made in my adult life. In the winter, even the most gentle alarm from my phone would jar me awake. I have had this alarm for about 2 weeks now and it is the dead of winter and I have woken up feeling refreshed every morning, which translates to more energy and focus throughout my day. I really like the design—it is simple and minimal. It was also really easy to set up. The front display has adjustable brightness which is a huge plus. I appreciate that the display is an orange color, not blue or white—less pain to the eyes if you have to check it in the middle of the night. You can set 2 different sunrise alarms which is helpful. The sunrise alarm can be adjusted in multiple ways: time, alarm sound (I like the bird song but there are other choices), brightness level, and how far before your alarm it begins to brighten. I have mine programmed to start 15 minutes before my alarm. It goes from off to deep red/orange to yellow and finally to white. I am typically awake sometime around yellow and this wakes me up so much more gently. No more poking at my phone for 10 minutes trying to get myself out of bed. The sunset can also be programmed and adjusted to your liking in multiple ways. I have mine set for 20 minutes and I typically read a paper book as it dims. I absolutely love this product. The transition from light to dark is not very smooth—I notice it click down with each level. Once my alarm goes off and it is at full brightness I wish there was a way to turn off the alarm sound but keep the light on. In the short time I have had this product it has changed my morning routine. My sleep is more restful and waking up is so easy. It has really helped my mental health. If you are considering purchasing a product like this I highly recommend starting here.
This clock has 3 display brightness levels, including off. High is great for daytime, medium is soft and clear for nighttime, and the display brightness is easy to adjust with a dedicated button. There are 20 wake-up light levels adjustable to your preference in both brightness and sunrise length with seamless transitions. You can easily turn the alarm sounds off. There is a visible alarm on-off indicator. When turning the alarm back on it displays the alarm time so you will know it is correct. The setup is easy to follow step by step. The buttons become intuitive after use. The sunrise and different colors are bright, colorful and pretty. This winter I decided to look for a sunrise alarm to bring light into my midwinter mornings. This unit is a complete success. I've been using it for a few weeks and while I don't always wake up to the light, I'm no longer startled awake from deep sleep in the blackness of the morning. My husband also likes this sunrise alarm. It is quite lovely to wake up to a soft light in the room. I skimmed through the manual and had it figured out in about 10 minutes. This particular clock had the best features for what I needed. I seriously considered several Phillips models, but there were features missing that were important to me. In the end, this clock offered exactly what I was looking for.
The sunrise brightness settings go from rich orange to yellow to white and you can completely customize your sunrise and sunsets final brightness with a custom timer. The lowest settings are dim enough and the highest settings are bright enough. It is not possible to turn the sounds off completely—even volume level one is quite high. When you hit snooze it turns off both the light and the mandatory music, which defeats the entire purpose of having a sunlight alarm. The workaround is to hit the alarm button to turn it off, then manually turn the light back on. The sunset mode would be great for winding down in dim lights, but again you're forced to listen to sounds instead of silence or your own music. The light alarm is cheap and lightweight but still looks nice. Inability to turn sound all the way off is frustrating.
This alarm clock has helped my 5th grader become more independent and wake up by himself for school. He says it is actually his favorite thing in his room. It is easy to set up and works great. It even has a white noise function to block out outside noise.
I finally found an alarm that successfully wakes me up! The manual buttons are easier to use compared to other models. I love the wake-up alarm sound options—the wind chimes sound is my favorite and none of the others I looked at had it. The sleep aid for this clock actually helps me fall asleep with the sound and light gradually decreasing until they softly go off. I surprisingly prefer not having an app to control it, as I need this alarm to force me to get up and turn it off. I set up the clock across the room so I have no choice but to get out of bed. It has a battery that saves your pre-set alarms, sound choices, and volume settings. The sunrise uses orange/yellow/golden light to simulate the sunrise, which is nice. You cannot use other color settings with the alarm—they are purely ambience lighting separate from the alarm clock. While this clock does not have a phone app and all the color modes for ambience lighting like other models, I very much prefer the wake-up and sleep sounds. It's actually doing its job by waking me up on time in a way that's pleasant.
The clock is very good and works great. It has 20 light tones that increase gradually from 0 to 20. You can set it to start brightening up to 60 minutes before the maximum brightness point. If you want to wake at 7 hours, you can make it start at 6 hours and gradually increase the tone. In sleep mode, the light starts strong and descends like a sunset.
Why we made it
Sudden noise and darkness create a spike of stress right when you're most vulnerable. For anyone who dreads mornings, that jolt sets a negative tone for the entire day. A sunrise simulation removes that shock—your body wakes naturally, you're calmer, and mornings become bearable again.
